Bunny Boost! Marchesa Unveils its version of the Playboy Costume

A Playboy Bunny is a waitress at the Playboy Club. The Playboy Clubs were originally open from 1960 to 1988. The Club re-opened in one location in The Palms Hotel in Las Vegas in 2006.Bunnies wore a costume called a “bunny suit” inspired by the tuxedo-wearing Playboy rabbit mascot consisting of a corset, bunny ears, a collar, cuffs and a fluffy cottontail.    Source: Wikipedia

The Playboy costume is one of the most recognizable costumes around the world. And so goes the Marchesa designers does it spin on the costume and unveils it at the new Playboy club in London. I think the sketch is more dramatic than the actual translation of the garment to cloth. Its missing that tuxedo flavor and has been replaced by the Marchesa signature formal red carpet appeal. Although the detailing of the lace bodice and beading is elegant; to me, it just appears a bit goth without that punch of white added to the mix.

On the Bronze Patrol

Sun-sational days are upon us and bronzers offer that instant transition to that “high pro glow” for skin. It’s that pick me up for your face and body. People are becoming more conscious of their exposure to the sun rays; therefore, bronzers are the ultra safe alternative to baking in the sun or being “microwaved ” on a tanning bed.  Apply with care when using, don’t overdo. The ones I have suggested below don’t give that “oompa loompa” look. I have used the Loreal Sublime Bronzer and for a drugstore brand it’s good bargain. If you have extra bucks to splurge, I do recommend Lancome Bronzer, it’s light and not oily. For that instant perk to your skin, Clinique True Bronzer Powder gives my skin an instant boost!

Remember your look should have a sun-kissed glow not a “tangerine dream” look.  Happy self-tanning!

Helpful Tip! Before using body self tanners, rub yourself smooth. While you’re in the shower, exfoliate (pay special attention to areas with rough skin like elbows, knees, ankles and heels). Also make sure to shave. Then dry off well (water can prevent the tanner from absorbing evenly).

Emma Watson Blossoms for Lancome

First Emma is the face for Burberry, now Lancome!
Emma Watson is becoming quite a wealthy witch from Hogwarts to High Fashion with her selection of ad campaigns. With her pixie do she has most under her magic spell!

Quote as reported to WWD:

“I helped choose the color of the rose,” said Watson, who is a Lancôme ambassador, sitting in the Hôtel Ritz here early evening on Tuesday.

Emma’s Lancôme’s Trésor Midnight Rose campaign will begin this fall; My Week with Marilyn is slated for a potential winter 2011 release. Emma just began work on The Perks of Being a Wallflower earlier this week in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Fashion Flashback- Diana Ross

She put the “D” in Diva. Stamped the “S” in stardom. She ran out of the curtains on Ed Sullivan Show like it was her runway. Love her or hate on her. Diana Ross is an originator of fashion and marketing trends in her own rite.

Wow! just image if she had access to weaves in her day!  Her hair would be longer than Rapunzel’s! Hair manufacturers owe Diana something for her influence for hair being out there and exploring unlimited hairstyles. Lashes for days, she was a front person for lashes before the  lash extensions came to light.

She was the empowerment for women’s liberation without even speaking, everytime she landed onto the stage she spread her arms wider than an eagle- and just owned it. And yes, the Supremes may have disliked it, but let’s face it, it was just a simple motion of the arms, and Diana claimed it. So the b8tches just had to back up!
In this day, her fashion influences remains…. makeup, the hair, the attitude.

A Dynamic Diva- Diana Ross

Joan Smalls US Vogue May2011

When I saw the photo of Joan Smalls, I was reminded how someone look and style is ever present in our daily fashion mantra. Then bang! It hit me like a bolt of thunder, Diana Ross. She is a timeless presence in the fashion world, from her beginnings with The Supremes, expanding through her solo singing career and pivotal movie roles in Lady Sings the Blues and Mahogany.

Thanks Diana for spreading your wings and being a fashion inspiration to many and keeping the divas of the future on top of their game.

Also Happy Mother’s Day to all! 🙂
